The DC Extended Universe has been under criticism ever since its beginning. The film ends with Batman revealing his intentions of forming an army based on metahumans to save the Earth from external threats. The monster retaliates and kills Superman before dying off. Superman realizes the monster’s weakness and hits him directly on the heart with Batman’s Kryptonian spear.

The two then head out and fight Lex’s Kryptonian monster which he summons as part of his backup plan. They soon make peace thanks to Lois Lane’s revelation about Martha. Lex’s plan works as Batman makes an appearance and attacks Batman with his unique weapons. Lex, in order to bring Superman back from exile, captures his adoptive mother Martha and reveals to Superman as to how he has been provoking him as well as Batman to fight against each other. The criticism increases as Superman goes into self-exile. On the other end, a bomb smuggled by Lex goes off, killing everyone in parliament except Superman. Threatened by Superman’s powers, Batman prepares himself by obtaining Kryptonite and crafting a spear and grenade based off it.
